ON A LIGHTSWITCH FAR,FAR AWAY
Today I came home to find this crafty little change to the lightswitch plate in our computer room. Thanks to my wife, Kelly, for making our home a little more nerdy in her own special way!

WHAT TO GET THE STAR WARS FAN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON (OR AT LEAST THIS STAR WARS FAN)
Looking for something for that Star Wars fan in your life who pretty much has every collectible ever? I’d wager that they don’t have this. Heck, they probably don’t even know that this game actually came out in 1983.
I don’t remember much about the game except that my mom bought it for us at a garage sale around ‘85-‘86 and instead of playing the game my brothers and I would often act out scenes from Return of the Jedi using the board game and all the pieces.
It was neat because the Sarlacc’s pit was the bottom of the box that the game came in and a paper overlay with the pit sat on top of the box. You’d knock over the pieces and they’d fall into the pit and, in turn, the box. It basically put the game away for you as you played it!
I’m not sure where our copy of the game went over the years, but as a Star Wars fan, if this showed up under my tree I’d waste no time at all putting the set together and re-enacting the infamous scene from Return of the Jedi.
THE LASER SWORD IN THE STONE
I don’t know if anyone else has already done this Disney/Star Wars mashup yet, but it was too fun for me to resist.

NEW STAR WARS / DISNEY MOVIES
Since Disney announced their purchase of Lucasfilm, emotions have been running high amongst the nerd community. Some happy, some upset, but others, like Charlie and Andy at How To Be A Dad, have embraced the deal and come up with a list of possible titles for films we can expect to come out of the new deal.
Of course, the new partnership wasn’t completely out of left field. Back in August a Star Wars / Cars crossover was announced.
